Mom Guilt

I have been feeling a little mom guilt the past couple days :( I know most of it is irrational but that's life. I also know I am doing the best I can and that is all I can do.

So What If...

• Hudson started screaming his friend Britt's name when we drove past a playground and I almost cried, Britt lives in FL so I can't tell H we will see him anytime soon
• I feel bad H isn't in a preschool, he misses school so badly
• I feel guilty that H can't go to CFA and play, there stupid play area is crazy anyway
• the guilt hits again thinking about how we had to cancel H's bday party :( but I keep telling myself he won't ever know he didn't have a party
• I feel guilty that I want to go back to work and or school, I love staying home with H but I know how much he misses the school environment so he would do great!
• I am super excited my inlaws are coming for the simple fact that I get to sleep past 5:30!!

What are you saying SO WHAT to today?

I Have A Frosting Problem...

So I survived Hudson turning 3...with the help of some funfetti frosting and nascar.  H and I had a great day yesterday, we had breakfast at McD's, went to Publix where the birthday boy got 2 cookies :), we played outside before nap, and then just hung out until dinner and cake!

I baked only my 2nd cake in  my whole life yesterday, from a box of course. Funfetti cake is my fav so I decided it would be H's favorite as well :) He loved it! Overall he had a great day!

We only gave him a few little things like trains and cars and we will do more presents when M's parents get here this weekend :)

It Happened...

My baby boy is 3 today! 

I still cannot believe that 3 years ago today I meet my little man. Time goes by all to quickly :( I hope you have the most amazing day today Hudson, cast and all! Your Daddy and I love you to the moon and back :) xoxo

A Little Pre-Birthday Excitement

Well if the picture above didn't give it away...Hudson has a fun new accessory, that beautiful Dinosaur cast!
Wednesday after dinner H was trying to climb into our extremely tall bed, while pulling him up he decided to play the I'm gonna go limp game and make y'all lift 35lbs of dead weight...it's a fun game :( We put ice on his wrist/hand right away, there wasn't any swelling or bruising so we really weren't sure what had happened. He was very protective of it and was holding his arm right next to his body, he would cry when we tried to look at it. I made the decision not to rush to the ER for a number of reasons, one of them being the wait. We put him to bed and watched him all night, I knew if he moved it during the night (he is an active sleeper) that it was most likely ok.  Well our active sleeper didn't move a muscle except to cry in pain about every hour or so...it was horrible to listen to knowing there wasn't anything I could do for him.

Thursday morning we went up to the walk in clinic (we cannot go to the ped yet since he hasn't had his well visit) they were wonderful and got us an appt with an orthopedic right away! Thank God M was with us! He took H in for xrays and pretty much held him the entire time. The xray didn't show any broken or fractured bones, the Dr poked H's arm up and down and he kept saying nothing hurt, we thought we were in the clear...until she tried to rotate his wrist, cue the tears and screams :( She said he most likely has a small fracture that isn't showing up on the xray and recommended a cast for 3 weeks!

H loved that he got to have a dinosaur cast and seemed to be adjusting to it well....until bathtime.  Poor guy couldn't understand why I couldn't take it off and cried the whole time :( Today seems to going better and I am trying to get him to realize he can still use his fingers ;)

So What Wednesday

• So What if I want a do-over on today, H was up at 4 and then at 6, I had to put him in timeout 2x during parent & tot class, and then he refused lunch....
• So What I'm super excited to meet some cool bloggers Sunday!
• So What if I had a hangnail yesterday, pulled it, and today it is infected, swollen finger and all
• So What if I have a love hate relationship with the fact that M works for a car co., he got to see the 1st roll-out of a new car yesterday...like right off the line....this is not good for a guy with a slight car obsession
• So what if I'm exhausted, if I nap I won't be able to go to bed :(
• So What if H's bday party is Saturday and I haven't ordered the cake or bought any decorations...complete mom fail
• So What If I'm excited about MOPS tomorrow so that I can have a few hours of adult interaction!

A Hiking We Will Go!

This weekend we went on a family hike at one of the local parks here! M came up with the idea and we had such a great time! The hike itself was about 3 miles, Hudson did really well until he had to go to the bathroom.  He refused to do the boy thing and pee outside so we had to double time it back to the visitor center! M ended up carrying him about half a mile and I carried him about .3 of a mile...my thighs were burning with that extra 35lbs!! All in all it was a great time and we can't wait to go again!
