Hiking To The Cross

On Memorial Day we drove down to Sewanee to go on a little family hike. M works at the base of the mountain so H and I were excited to see where daddy spends his time :) If you have never been to Sewanee you are missing out, it is just beautiful, all the school buildings look like mini churches! I didn't take my DSLR so you'll have to wait until we go back for pictures of the campus.

There is the most beautiful cross at the top of the mountain and several little trails that wind around it. We took 1 trail there and a different 1 back, Hudson did such a great job!

the amazing view!

After our adventure we had an impromptu cookout with our friends! It is the 1st time we have had dinner guests in our new home! The kids played hard and we adults enjoyed some much needed grownup conversation!

So What Wednesday

I'm linking up with Shannon over at L.A.I.D. for So What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT IF...

  • I'm about ready to give away all of our animals, the cat has this incessant meow at all hours, and the dog has been eating stuff off the counter this week!
  • I'm eyeing the Publix cupcakes on top of the fridge
  • I wish every weekend was a three day weekend
  • I hate summer tv, except for maybe rookie blue
  • I get super excited that Hudson has been sleeping until 6:30 or later this week...its the little things

Memorial Weekend Fun

Wow! We had an amazing weekend of fun! I was very sad when M left for work this morning :(

Friday night we went to this little car show, it was nice to just be outside and walk around. Hudson loved looking at all of the cars and even found a Tow Mater look a like!

Saturday we went to Cars and Coffee over in Franklin before heading to the Farmers Market. H kept walking over to all of the cars wanting to see the engines....my boy loves cars! We met up with Laura and G to walk around, I of course didn't take any pictures of the boys :(

After his non-nap...curse you car nap! H wanted to dig outside in the mulch...well it was 95 and so I lathered him up in sunscreen and let him play outside, while M and I watched from inside....bad parents we are!

Sunday we decided to go on a little hike at one of the greenways, we ended up hiking up to the Stones River Battlefield. Hudson did a great job and we even spotted some turkeys!

After nap we decided Ice Cream was in order!

Monday we drove down to Sewanee and went for a hike, I'll post those pictures later!
Happy Tuesday!

Flashback Friday: Pregnant With H

I didn't have a blog when I was pregnant so I have never really shared any pictures of myself pregnant.  For one there are not a ton of pregnant pics! We found out I was pregnant after living in Florida for two months, I ended up moving back up to VA to go to my own DR that I trusted and I would visit M as often as possible!

5 months...just found out we were having a boy!

Thanksgiving 2008 almost 6 months, just barely starting to show

Christmas 2008 almost 7 months

January 2009 7 months

My baby shower February 2009, 34 weeks....H was born 2 weeks later!

So What Wednesday

It has been awhile since I linked with Shannon over at Life After I Dew for So What Wednesday but here goes!

So What If...

  • I'm feeling homesick for VA and FL this week, long weekends always make me want to be at the RIVAH or beach with family & friends
  • I'm this close to going back to waiting tables....not really but really....running out of unemployment sucks
  • I'm already ready to move....to a house, we miss having a yard
  • I have been a total slacker on my workouts this week
  • M will be home with us for 3 days and I cannot wait
  • I bribed H with a popsicle for pooping on the potty and he now says "I did great job, I have popsicle"
  • Duck Dynasty reminds me of my dad and his friends without the beards and less redneck

Pigs, Ducks, Goats Oh My

Saturday we woke up without any set plan as to what was on tap for the day. After throwing around some ideas, we settled on the Franklin Farmers Market.

We took a very "scenic" route that had us driving on a gravel road through farms! After questioning M's directions we finally made it to Franklin.

Hudson had a ball! He got his face painted and played with the animals in the petting zoo! It was a hot day so we snuck inside and walked around the factory, stopping for lunch at a hot dog place. While the hot dogs were really good I was a little shocked at spending nearly $20 on two hot dogs and a grilled cheese....

Sunday we went to church and then just hung out at home! Hope all of y'all had great weekends!

Oh and if any Nashville girls have any job leads let me know! This momma is ready to go back to work :)

And the pics are out of order again....grrr!!!
