Christmas Cookies

We had a busy weekend last weekend, on Sunday our friends John and Kristy and their son Jack came over so we could bake sugar cookies!

For those of you that know me I have never rolled out dough and used cookie cutters to make sugar cookies. I did cheat and buy pillsbury dough and then just added some flour and rolled it out. The boys played so well together, they were following each other around and just having a grand time! Kristy and I ended up making most of the cookies but we had so much fun!

Christmas Book Exchange

The weekend before Christmas I had a little Christmas book exchange for Hudson and his friends. They were so cute ripping into the presents :)

Right before the party was to start our tree stand broke....thank goodness the tree didn't fall completely over! We put the gate around it and Mack ran out to Home Depot and was able to jerry rig it to the wall.

The nativity set has been a hit this year, I am so glad that i looked all over Orlando for it!

Holly Leaves

So I attempted to make these amazing Christmas treats that my mom has been making forever! They are amazing!!!! SO since we are having a little Christmas party for the kids here on Saturday I decided that I would try and make my mom's holly leaves.

You make them by first melting butter, marshmellows, and food coloring as seen below You then add in the corn flakes and stir them around until they are coated in the above mixture

And finally you try very hard to make lumps of the above look like holly leaves by adding 2 red hots in the center......

I must say they do not look half as green as my mom's do and nothing like holly leaves but I guess the point is that I did it for the first time ever! So thanks mom for not living in Orlando, because I totally would have made you do this! I hope that I don't eat them all before Saturday, as they are my favorite thing at Christmas!

Explanation

So I thought I should explain my earlier post, Shutterfly had a little special where if you wrote a blog about their services you got 50 free Christmas Cards! So I got my 50 free cards, I can't wait to order them!!!!!

Its Picture Time

I have a told y'all how much I love Shutterfly?

Shutterfly is an amazing website that lets you upload your pictures so that your family and friends can see them, you can also order prints, cards, stationary, calendars, and more! I created a Shutterfly account when Hudson and I moved to Florida so that my family could see picture updates of Hudson. I also ordered his birth announcements from Shutterfly and the turned out so great!!!

I love getting Christmas cards that have photos on them, I feel as though more and more people are opting for the photo card which is great! Especially as many of our friends have started families it is fun to see how their little ones are growing!!!

This year I will be making and ordering our Christmas cards from Shutterfly and might even make a calendar or two while I am at it since the prices are so great!

Shutterfly does more than just cards and calendars, you can create your wedding save the dates and invitations on Shutterfly! I made Hudson's 1st birthday invitations on Shutterfly that went with his frog themed day! They were so adorable, I will most likely do the same thing again this year for his 2nd birthday.

Here are some links to Shutterfly so you can check it out for yourself!

Visitors!

Last weekend my Aunt Betsy and Uncle Chuck were kind enough to drive down from Richmond and bring Hudson his big boy bed! They gave us two twin beds and all of the bedding! Even though they were only here for less than 24 hours we had a blast with them! Hudson loved giving Betsy high fives and was saying Chuck by the end of the night! Thanks again Betsy and Chuck for coming down to see us!!!! We can't wait to see you again :)

More Thanksgiving Pictures

Here are some more pictures of Hudson and Maddie from Thanksgiving, we did not get a family picture because Hudson decided he wanted some of mommy's red wine and spilled it all over himself!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

We have had an amazing Thanksgiving Holiday! GiGi and Granddaddy Lindsey came into town on Tuesday, they picked up Hudson from school Tuesday and then took him shopping on Wednesday.....can you say spoiled :) On Thursday Mack and Aubrey ran in a turkey trot while I started the cooking! I had made broccoli casserole the night before so all I had to do was the chocolate chip cheese ball and lemon cheese pies. My Mimi and then mom always made lemon chess for Thanksgiving so I thought I would give it a try this year. Both the cheese ball and the pies turned out great!!!

When Mack got back from his run he started the turkey and before we knew it our friends Natascha and Ryan had arrived with their daughter Maddie. Natascha made a cherry pie and a pumpkin pie, they were to die for!

All in all we had a great day with family and friends :)

On Saturday we went with Natascha and Ryan up to Daytona for the car show, it turned out to be a lot colder than we had expected and poor little Hudson was sooo cold. I got a couple of pictures of him asleep in his stroller on the newly paved track.
