Croup

Well, we have had an exciting couple of days here in the Lindsey house. Thursday night after we put Hudson down he woke up a couple time coughing but then would go back to sleep, at about 11:30 he woke up coughing and wheezing, when I went in to check on him he was having a very hard time breathing. I immediately took him into our room and woke up Mack, we calmed him down and tried to decide what we should do, after another little episode we decided to go to the hospital.

After almost 4 hours, 6 x-rays, and a shot later Hudson was diagnosed with croup. For those who don't know what croup is....it is a virus that causes a horrible barking cough and extremely painful sore throat, the throat swells and causes the breathing problems that Hudson was experiencing.

We are confined to the house for the next 3 days a croup is contagious! So much for our Bunny Brunch and Strawberry Festival tomorrow and church and family photo shoot on Sunday :(

This week we had a ton of fun with all of our friends! Monday we went to storytime at Leu Gardens and then walked the gardens and played in the grass. Wednesday we went to the mall and shopped with mommy's friends and Hudson played in the play area. Friday we went over to Hudson's friend Ani's house for a fun filled day of playing with his friends. My dear friends Meredith and Corbin came down from D.C. for Hudson's Baptism! I had not seen Meredith since my baby shower and Corbin since their wedding!! It was so great to see them and have them meet the newest member of our Beaumaris Crew!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY HUDSON

Well it finally happened, Hudson turned 1 on Saturday! We had a wonderful day with our friends and family.

The Lindsey's came down Thursday and took us to a wonderful dinner at the Capital Grille. Friday my parent's arrived and we spent the day getting ready for the party and then we all had dinner at Spice on Park Ave. (so yummy!!) Saturday mom and I spent the morning cleaning and getting ready. The Lindsey's left Saturday night and we spent the rest of the night cleaning up and finishing off the cake! Sunday my parents let us sleep in and got up with Hudson, we then went to the Farmer's Market and walked by the Lake. My parents left Sunday night and Mack and I are recovering from all of the excitement!

We had a great turn out and want to thank everyone for the wonderful and thoughtful gifts. We had a frog cake, a sheet cake, and a smash cake for Hudson. He didn't smash his face in the cake, he got the icing on his hands and was done! He then chose to play with the rattle I made him out of a water bottle with pennies in it instead of all of his toys!

Denial

So I have been in denial this past week, over the fact that Hudson is going to be 1! As wonderful as it is that he is turning into a little man I am sad that my baby is growing up so fast!!

We are excited that my parents and Mack's parents are coming to Florida to help us celebrate Hudson's big day!!

This past weekend Mack went down to Pompeno to fish with his friends Keith and Mike from grad school. They didn't catch anything but had fun nonetheless! While daddy was away Hudson and I had a playdate with his friends, went on some long walks to the park, and just enjoyed being together!

ONE STEP AT A TIME

This weekend we were all under the weather with colds.....we are a pretty miserable bunch! While we were home though Hudson decided he wanted to walk for the first time! He stands up and takes one step and then falls down, but he is trying and that is all the matters.

We hope that he will be walking by the time his grandparents come down for his birthday!

Mack will be gone this weekend for a fishing tournament so Hudson and I have been making plans to have lots of fun! Friday we are hosting a playdate for Hudson's friends and their mommies!

Quack and Cat

Hudson has been talking a lot this week, his new words are CAT and QUACK. He screams CADT everytime he sees Enzo and the dogs for that matter. He is also saying QUACK to his yellow rubber duck, but again he thinks the dogs say QUACK too.

We are in birthday countdown mode and as happy I am that he is turning into a little person I am very sad that he will no longer be considered an infant.....

My birthday was the 26th and Hudson decided he was going to dress in his penguin suit for the big day! I am sad to say that I am now in my late twenties which makes me super sad :(

I had a wonderful day with my boys, they took me out to dinner and let me sleep in a little in the morning!
