What Haven't We Been Doing

Well, the job has taken over my life...I'm working crazy hours but I love it!

A week after we got back from Canada Hudson started Pre-K! He is loving it and we are so in love with his school! His teacher is great, she really expects a lot from him and he is stepping up to the plate. I am not sure I am ready for him to move on after this year so I am hoping it goes by very slowly...

Hudson also has started soccer!! He looks so cute in his little umbros and cleats! While he isn't too keen on getting in there and getting the ball he is enjoying it and that's all that matters.

Hopefully it won't be so long between posts but I can't promise anything!

Changes Are A Comin'

I know every time I write a title like that half of you think I'm knocked up again...sorry to disappoint you!

I've been keeping a secret from Facebook & this here blog...if you follow me on Twitter you already know...I got a NEW JOB! Not just any job and not with just any company but with NISSAN which if you didn't already know is where Mack works also! We will be working in the same place but in different departments and I've already told Mack how awesome it will be to eat lunch together everyday....he didn't seem as thrilled as I was.

This is my last week at my current job and I am super sad to leave to friends that I have made here but you don't turn down double the pay and shorter commute! I have been working part time but with an hour commute each way and even with going full time I will still be gone the same hours I already was so that was a plus. The only thing I will miss is taking Hudson to school everyday...that will fall to daddy now.

So here goes nothing, big girl job with a big girl company...I'm still not sure what they saw in me ;)

The Grass Is Always Greener...

We've all heard the term above and yet I didn't really think it applied to me until I had an email conversation with another blogger the other day.  While I will admit I have been jealous of others or thought why do things come easy to certain people, I have never been a grass is greener person.

When emailing with my fellow blogger about her decision to go back to work she used the grass is always greener term and it hit me, why yes I find myself thinking how nice it must be to stay at home instead of work. Although I enjoy my job and am happy to be back in the working world there is always that lingering feeling of my days as a stay at home mom.

How easy it was to travel or go on vacation when I/we wanted, if I felt like having a pj day I could, hell if I felt like not showering or putting on makeup that was ok to.  And then I stop myself because when I was a SAHM my thouhgts crept to how working moms got to get out of the house, have responsibilities other than their children, and happy hours (although I have yet to experience a work happy hour).

So you see the grass will always be greener no matter what I chose and once I realized that I actually came to a sort of peace with where I am in my life and who knows maybe I'll be a SAHM again someday in the future but not today, today I will enjoy someone else entertaining Hudson after single momming it for the last 4 days!

Adjustments

Well I survived my 1st month of work and have lived to tell about it. It has been nice being back in the working world although somedays all I want to do is curl up in bed with Hudson and watch Wild Kratts on repeat...

Hudson is loving school, he sings the grace he learned at school every night before dinner and loves telling me about the bible lessons he is learning. As much as I like the school is in he will be moving to a new school in January. We had been on the waiting list for the local Catholic school where a bunch of our church friends send their kids...I got the call last week that they had a spot and after lots of discussion we decided to accept!

Normally I wouldn't have moved him since he is doing so well but this is where he will eventually go to preK and kindergarten so we figured since we got the spot we couldn't let it go. I'm excited for Hudson to wear his little uniform and he'll even go to mass 2 Fridays a month which is really neat!

M and I have fallen into a routine when it comes to who showers first and all that jazz. I have been trying to take 30 minutes when I come home to do a chore around the house, even if it is just washing the dishes in the sink only to fill it up again :) We find ourselves not watching as much TV these days which is actually nice.

We have still not adjusted to meal planning well and I figure once the madness of the holidays are over then we can get back on board with meal planning. Working out has also taken a backseat to the holiday craziness...oops!

Overall the adjustment period has gone well, yes we have a half lit tree, no presents, and piles of laundry to fold but hey such is life!
