Memorial Day Weekend

Well Blogger is being its typical screwed up self and all my pictures look blurry...thanks blogger!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend! Saturday we went over to Cars & Coffee in Franklin, Hudson got to hangout in a friends' mustang which he thought was pretty cool! Hudson's friends Cason and Jackson came over for a cookout Saturday night and the boys had a ball with each other.

Sunday we went to church and then worked in the yard and on the house. That night we went over to our friends' house for hot dogs, slip n slide, and s'mores! We also taught the kids how to eat Honeysuckle, such a rite of passage!

Monday since H loves going to my office I took him in with me for a couple hours, he watched a movie and I shredded a bunch of paperwork....fun times! That night we had our friends the Shorts over for drinks and apps. I bought cupcakes from the store and when I went inside to get them for dessert I found an empty container...our black lab Grace helped herself to 6 cupcakes...awesome! Mack ran out for more and the kids were none the wiser.

We have a busy week ahead, tomorrow is Hudson's last day of school :( I am taking tomorrow off so I can hangout with him :) Then tomorrow night Mack and I are going to Dispatch at the Ryman!!! Hudson will have a babysitter Thursday thru Tuesday of next week and then I am putting my baby on a plane to Charleston with Big Daddy!!! I cannot believe I am doing this! We will meet him in Charleston Thursday and then head down to Beaufort Friday to meet up with my family for a wedding....so we are busy and crazy but good things are happening!

Fisker anyone?

Flashback Friday: Missing the Rivah

Every long weekend I get super sad that we don't live closer to home. I miss being able to go to my parents Rivah (thats the way we say it in Richmond) house with family and friends. I can honestly say I miss the Rivah more than I miss Richmond on any given day. It just one of the most low key and relaxing places and only going once a year isn't going to cut it anymore.

When Friendships Evolve

We've all been there, that place in between friends and aquantinces, the place where friendships fizzle and burn out. I've learned that as I get older some friendships start to fizzle out, not because of anything one person has done but they've just run their course...the emails are shorter, the texts rare, and the phone calls fewer and far between. There is nothing wrong with this, this is life and people move on. I am still "friends" with people on Facebook even after our "real life" friendship has fizzled and I think that is great, I still care about my friends and it's nice to be able to check in every once in awhile.

But what do you do when you purposefully end a friendship? When other relationships are affected? Well from what I've learned these are more like divorces. If you end a friendship with someone you must also end it with siblings and relatives. In pretty much all cases this type of evolvement is painful yet necesseary. You could stay mad for years or be at peace with your decision but the pain of ending a friendship that you thought would last is still there.

Friendship is a funny thing...it has many definitions and people want different things from friendships. I know I have friends that I might not talk to daily but I know would be there for me no matter what, no questions asked...and me for them. Then there are the friends I talk to on a regular basis, they are still there for me but they are also my source laughter and my source for venting. Am I the best friend, no, I don't like talking on the phone, I don't send a million emails, I am not that girl. But I love my friends fiercly and would do anything for them...and there lies the problem...

Sometimes I give too many chances to friends, let them walk on me one too many times. Only usually after a last straw situation will I break and be hit in the face by reality. This happened to me recently and man it hurt and then after about 2 hours it didn't...I was at peace it turns out because deep down I knew that this friendship was over, there wasn't a mean text sent just a simple one stating that the friendship was broken and had been for a long time and that I wished them the best and that was it, done, door closed.

I am sure this won't be my last evolution of a friendship, but I sure do hope those fizzle out rather than have to be cut out.

iPhone Dump

Well hello! Long time no blog, huh? To say life has been crazy would be an understatement! This past weekend I came home sick Friday, Mack was pretty pitiful to, and then Hudson started throwing up before bed Saturday night! Poor guy hasn't thrown up in like 3 years! I slept in his room so that I could be there for him when he woke up....he would just pass out after each time and it just broke my heart to see him hurt so badly! He was fine by Sunday, just tired. I was pretty sick without any appetite and lost 6 pounds over the weekend!

Monday after work my chest was really hurting me and I knew I needed to go to the hospital, so once Mack got home off I went. If your looking for fast service at the ER tell them you are having chest pain...I didn't even open my magazine in the waiting room it was that fast!

After an EKG, IV steroids, Breathing treatment, and Chest X-Ray I was diagnosed with Pneumonia!! I kind of knew it b/c I had it about 5 years ago but not nearly as bad as this time. They gave me 2 huge syringes of antibiotics before sending me off with about $400 worth of RXs and orders to rest for the next 4 days.

Yesterday I thought I could do some housework like vacuuming...uh nope and then when I got H from school we met new neighbors and while talking to them I almost passed out & threw up! What an awesome 1st impression!

Anyhoo here are some pictures from the last month or so!
